Flixton skipper Will Norman is eyeing a dream final at Lord’s after his side edged to a tense one-wicket win against Broadbottom in their last 16 clash on Sunday.
The hosts looked dead and buried at 238-9 chasing 266, but Jamie Nesfield hit 37, Connor Stephenson added 30 and youngster Marley Ward held his nerve at the death to help his side to victory and a quarter-final clash at Falkland in Scotland.
Skipper Norman said: “It was so tense and nerve-wracking.
“We know how well Jamie can bat though, so while we never felt in control of the game until we won it, we certainly didn’t feel like it was over.”
Norman is now dreaming of a Lord’s final with his young side only two wins away from playing at the Home of Cricket.
“Everyone is talking about Lord’s,” added Norman.
“We’ll obviously know nothing about Falkland, but if we turn up and perform we will be very hard to beat.”
