Former Boro skipper and current Pickering Town assistant-manager Denny Ingram has joined the coaching and tutorial staff at Scarborough Football Scholarship.
Ingram joins fellow tutors Steve Brennan, Matt Colven, Ryan Blott, Jim Mellor and Lee Sutton at the Scholarship, which is based at the Flamingo Land Stadium.
He said: "I can't wait.
"We haven't had any games, but in the couple of sessions that we have had it has been very interesting to get out on the training field, getting to know everyone and see what they are all about.
"Hopefully we can work together to give them a good start and chance in the future.
"There is already a link between the Scholarship and Pickering Town and I'll be seeing the boys almost every single day on the training field.
"The natural progression should be into the Under-19s. Then fingers crossed we'll be hoping that some move on into the first-team squad."
Lead tutor Brennan added: "We have been working for the past two or three months to get Denny on board.
"I think he's going to have a positive affect on the training that we do because he's coming from a club like Pickering Town.
"Hopefully that will lead to a few more boys feeding into the set-up at Pickering.
"Also his experience, being an ex-professional player, will be great for our students to tap into."
