FOOTBALL-MAD youngsters will be hoping to start their own Road to Wembley in Scarborough today in the biggest Street Soccer tournament to ever take place in the UK.

The National Street Soccer Showdown has been touring the country thanks to a partnership between StreetWise Soccer and councils, local organisations and sports development officers.

The Scarborough regional qualifier takes at Scalby School Sports Hall today from 10am to 4pm, with the winners to advance to the grand final on Olympic Way in the shadows of Wembley Stadium in July.

It will feature three-on-three and one-on-one skill battles inside the street soccer cage, along with street soccer and freestyle football workshops and demos delivered by StreetWise’s experienced street soccer coaching team which includes UK street soccer champion Sean Thompson, as seen on Soccer AM’s Skill Skool.

Street Soccer is the latest innovative adaptation of the beautiful game, combining individual skill and creativity with urban music. Limited places will be available at today’s event.
