The event, which took place at a number of venues across Eastfield, was set up with the aim of bringing the local people together through fun activities, workshops and stalls for parents, children and young people alike.

The gala took place mainly across three venues – the Prevention Team Hub and library, while music and dance workshops were both led from the community centre.

Supported and sponsored by a host of local businesses, the day also saw face painting, potato printing and slime making, along with Prevention Team Hub workshops in drama, bike safety and arts and crafts.

The hub also provided a giant game of Operation to keep a competitive edge for families.

Frances Consoli, Family Outreach Worker at the Prevention Service, hailed the day as a success.

“The day was fantastic,” Frances said.

“We had so much good feedback both from families and agencies. We are hoping that it will become an annual event, bigger and better each year.”
