Community spirit was out in force during the 13th annual Rotary Community Fair in Scarborough’s town centre.
More than 40 voluntary organisations attended the event, which was organised by the Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers.
President Sally Brown explained that the purpose of the event is to give groups the chance to raise their profile while also raising money.
Organisations with stalls at the event included the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Martin House Children’s Hospice, HOPE and the Elder Tree Club.
Mrs Brown said: “It went really well. People said it was great to be able to have a stall somewhere with such high footfall.
“There were hundreds of people going up and down Westborough. One lady said she’d come all the way from Blackpool especially as she knew the fair was on.”
All the funds raised by each stall will go towards the group’s own funds and money raised by the Rotary Club will go to local charities and organisations.
