Fundraiser for Gay Pride event

A MASQUERADE Ball is being held in a bid to boost funds for Scarborough’s Gay Pride event.

The Albion pub, in Castle Road, is hosting a glitzy masquerade ball on Friday as the countdown continues to Scarborough Gay Pride.

Money raised at the ball will be put into the fund for the main Pride event which takes place from Friday September 2, finishing with a beach picnic in the town’s North Bay.

Rachel Bennett, vice chairman of the Scarborough Pride planning group said: “There will be fun and games and great music from the house DJ. Everyone is welcome so come along and bring your friends. There will be a prize for best dressed and music from a special guest.”

Tickets for the ball are £3 and can be bought in advance by calling (01723) 379068.

More details of Gay Pride, which is supported by Scarborough Council and Yorkshire Mesmac, will be available soon.
