British Gas engineer Hish Al-Bizri, 30, married Lisa Marie Baldwin, 33, on Saturday in Scarborough, and arrived at the church using a fleet of British Gas vans.

As well as getting to the church on time in a British Gas van, Hish entrusted Steven Frederickson and Wayne Suggit, his two best friends at British Gas, to be his groomsmen.

Hish met his bride through her sister, Lisa, who he has known since primary school. Hish popped the question after midnight mass (2013) at the church in which the couple will be married; Lisa had previously said how much she loved the church. Hish tried to table the idea of a British Gas colour theme for the wedding, but Lisa was not so keen. Twenty of Hish’s colleagues from British Gas attended the wedding at Wrea Head Hall.
