GENO Washington and the Ram Jam Band will be joined by Zoot Money at the Stephen Joseph Theatre on Saturday at 7.30pm.
Geno and his band had two of the UK’s biggest selling albums of the sixties. A master of soul, Geno came over to the UK as part of the US Air Force and stayed.
Zoot Money is a British vocalist, keyboardist and bandleader best known for his playing of the Hammond organ and association with his Big Roll Band.
Geno played at Scarborough’s Talbot Inn in 1995. “He was really nice and he was amazed that I was trying to give him a bit more money than we agreed, not less,” recalls Paul Toole, who ran the Talbot.
Both Geno and Zoot are 68.
