A LOCAL clothing store is driving up support for a national charity as part of its latest fundraising campaign.
This week staff at Bonmarché in Westborough dressed up in summer wear and got into the holiday spirit to raise money in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support through its Midsummer Raffle.
Visitors to the shop can buy tickets with a chance of winning a Vauxhall Corsa and Bonmarché vouchers with all proceeds going towards the charity.
Shop manager Jan Marsh said: “It’s an ongoing collection for Macmilllan and we’re hoping to raise at least £200 with this raffle. It’s been running since April 30 and ends June 12.
“The staff have got behind it, they’re all dressing up. We dressed up yesterday as a holiday theme and we made a holiday bus from old material from shop sale equipment.
“The customers are very supportive, some even gave us just the donation. More people are getting to know; they all think it’s a fun thing we’re doing.
“We’re hoping to get lots of support and hopefully somebody in Scarborough will win the car, that will be great.”
