A dazzling display of Honda Goldwing motorcycles is set to light up Scarborough on Saturday September 12.

The popular Goldwing Light Parade is set to return with a series of events during the day and evening.

From 10am to 4pm there will be a static display of bikes near the lifeboat station site in South Bay.

There will also be a tombola stall, raffle, games, music, presentations and the chance to have your photo taken on a Goldwing.

Then at 8pm prompt, the Goldwing Light Parade starts from the West Pier car park.

The parade travels along the promenade through South Bay, Marine Drive and North Bay, returning to West Pier car park at around 8.45pm where spectators will be treated to a fireworks display on the beach at around 9.30pm, courtesy of the South Bay Traders’ Association.

In the past few years this free event, staged by volunteers from Goldwings for Life and Scarborough Borough Council, has attracted thousands of locals and holidaymakers.

The parade is open to anyone who rides a Honda Goldwing solo or trike. If you own a Goldwing, simply turn up on the day of the show and register your bike.

More details can be found at or on Facebook at Scarborough Goldwing Light Parade.

In previous years the event has attracted an estimated 10,000 spectators, so people are advised to turn up in good time along the route if they wish to watch the parade pass by. In the last seven years it has raised at total of £34,811.30 for the Scarborough and Filey Lifeboats.
