Graham School Year 11s have been handed a kit boost by Scarborough Football Scholarship.
Steve Brennan from the Scholarship, which will be based at the new Scarborough Sports Village from September, offered to buy the school’s eldest age-group after watching them in a District Cup semi-final.
Brennan said: “Graham’s PE teacher Craig Farrell invited me down to the cup game and since then we have a good link-up going on, having played their Year 11s on a couple of occasions.
“A good number of our recruits come from Graham School, so it was nice to be able to give a bit back to them.
Farrell added: “We’re delighted and thankful that Steve and the Scarborough Scholarship have donated us this kit. It’s a wonderful gesture, which we really appreciate.
“We’ve formed a good working relationship over the past year or so, with several of our ex-pupils joining the scholarship, and several of our current Year 11 cohort set to join in September.
“Having these types of games continues to build the pathway for lads keen to pursue a football career into higher education, while seeing first-hand the standards they need to achieve.
“I’m sure these games will be something Steve and I will look to continue in the coming years.”
