THE SCALBY Wives Group made a donation of £270 towards improving facilities for parents at Scarborough Hospital’s special care baby unit.
The money was raised at a summer coffee evening held earlier this month.
Doreen Brooke, of the Scalby Wives Group, said: “Every year we have a coffee evening for a special cause.”
Sharon Addey, manager of the unit, said: “The money was very gratefully received. We have facilities for parents but they are in need of a bit of redecoration.
“We want facilities where we can allow parents to be with their babies for as long as possible.
“It is very important that they have a chance to bond in a safe and secure environment.”
