THERE were seven new arrivals delivered at the maternity unit of Scarborough Hospital on Christmas Day.
The first baby was born at midnight and the seventh arrived at 10.30pm.
Liz Whittle, the labour ward coordinator, said that most of the proud mums were able to leave the hospital by yesterday and it had been a fairly busy day.
She added: “In the past we’ve had five – I think seven is the most we’ve had. We were just very busy.”
Three of the new babies were born during the night and the others arrived during the daytime.
The smallest new arrival weighed in at 2.515kg while the heaviest was 4.9kg.
