Top score at health trust for third year

THE health trust that looks after mental health services in Scarborough has been awarded the top score in the healthcare sector of a national hospitality accreditation scheme.

This is the fifth year Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded this prestigious award from the Institute of Hospitality.

The success secures its position at the top of the healthcare sector category for the third year.

This year the trust has also surpassed its previous successes by being awarded Hospitality Assured Premier status in recognition of its continued successful performance.

The mental health and learning disability trust, which runs Cross Lane Hospital in Scarborough, is now in tenth place of the 139 accredited organisations nationwide.

The accreditation was awarded following visits by Hospitality Assured assessors to four trust sites where they met 31 staff.

Nine steps had to be met to attain the accreditation including customer research, business planning, operational planning, standards of performance, training and development, service delivery and customer satisfaction improvement.

Linda Parsons, associate director of operational services, said: “We’re delighted with this achievement and also to be top scorers in the healthcare sector of this prestigious accreditation.

“External commendations like this demonstrate the continued commitment of our staff.”
