Firefighters were called out to a flooded basement in Scarborough after a tap was left on.

The team went to a building on Cliff Bridge Parade at 4.20am today and were able to get into the flat above and find the tap that had been left on.

They isolated the water and gave advice to the occupants.

Firefighters from Scarborough were also called out to deal with a grass fire in Ganton yesterday.

An area measuring 10 square metres was alight at 5.27pm.

The fire was started accidentally.
