The party, attended by staff, customers and suppliers, was kicked off by the arrival of two members of the Castle team, Eamonn Byrne and Chris Farbridge, as they crossed the finishing line on their fundraising tandem bike.

The party’s evening activities brought the fundraising total for St Catherine’s Hospice to more than £4,000.

They then took a scenic route throughout Scarborough stopping off at local landmarks and attractions to drum up fundraising support, finally arriving at the party to a warm welcome from the guests.

Further fundraising on the evening saw the auctioning of a variety of prizes, including hotel stays, hospitality packages, sporting memorabilia and theatre and attraction tickets, all of which had been donated by clients and friends of Castle.

The evening was expertly compered by Elly Fiorentini from BBC Radio York, who encouraged the guests to dig deep for the cause.

Managing director Suzanne Burnett said: “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of all who attended our 50th anniversary party – we have managed to far exceed our initial fundraising target of £2,000!

“The party was a very special evening for all of the Castle team as we were able to celebrate all that the business has achieved over the past 50 years with our clients, friends and family while raising money for a cause that is close to our hearts. I’m already looking forward to the Diamond Jubilee in 2026.”

Penny Campbell from St Catherine’s Hospice said: “Castle has been an amazing supporter and we really appreciate their help this year.
