Invite to an evening of worldwide cuisine

The Rotary Club of Scarborough Cavaliers are organising an international food tasting evening to help raise money to eradicate polio worldwide.

The evening will take place at St Augustine’s school on Saturday March 11, and will be hosted by BBC journalist and broadcaster Harry Gration.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with Harry taking to the stage at around 7.15pm for a 45-minute lively address.

There will be a bar selling refreshments and international food served at 8pm with cuisine from the Far East, Asia, South America, as well as Europe.

Club President, Jonathan Knight said : “Rotary, along with its partners, has reduced polio cases by 99.9% globally since the first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

Rotarians have helped immunise more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries and all the proceeds raised from this evening will go towards the worldwide fight to end polio,” he added.

Rotary’s World Polio Day this year is on 24October, 2017 and looks ahead to ending the disease for good.
