It's the sale of the century for Boyes stalwart Ian

A much-loved member of staff at Boyes in Queen Street is celebrating 50 years of service and his 100th sale. Ian Livingstone, 69, has always worked in the carpets and furniture department since he started with the firm in 1966. Colleague Shane Keld said Ian is very helpful and knowledgeable - with many customers coming in and asking for him by name. He added: 'He's definitely part of the family.' Ian was asked to cut the ribbon to open Boyes sale, which started on Friday and is on for five weeks. Store manager Chris Golder said: 'Ian is a one-off. Nobody else in the company has done 50 years. It's an incredible achievement and we wanted to do something special for him.'
