Help to create a unique look at Scarborough tomorrow, the longest day.

The Scarborough News is creating a compilation of video clips that show life in the area throughout the day.

We will take short video clips of places such as the beach and harbour, but you can also join in.

Send us your video clips of any event, celebration or community activity, and we will add them to our round-up which will be available on our great new website.

Community and voluntary groups, neighbourhood organisations, businesses, schools, colleges and Scarborough’s university students are invited to send in video clips too.

The clips should be short, aiming for about 20 seconds. Please email your mini videos to

Editor Ed Asquith said: “Tomorrow we’re running our Longest Day project when our journalists will be out and about to take video footage of what’s happening in our community.

“The results, including any submitted footage by our readers, will be edited into inspiring videos that reflect the areas we cover and a day in the life of where we live and work.”

The ‘Life in a Day’ package will be a superb visual snapshot of everyday life, and the more varied your contributions the better we can reflect the variety, character and pride of our community.

Please make sure that you send us any clips before 5pm so we can co-ordinate them.
