A North Yorkshire based charity has made a key appointment to help reach its £1million fundraising target by 2020.
The Encephalitis Society, which is based in Malton, has appointed Julia Clark as director of income generation.
Julia, who was educated at Graham School in Scarborough, was previously director of fundraising at Yorkshire Cancer Research.
She will now help shape the charity’s work, making a difference to the lives of thousands of people across the globe whose lives are affected by encephalitis (inflammation of the brain).
Dr Ava Easton, chief executive of The Encephalitis Society, welcomed the appointment.
She said: “I am delighted with this key appointment.
“Julia brings great experience and skills and the society will benefit tremendously in the years ahead.”
Julia said: “I am looking forward to being a part of the charity’s new, ambitious strategic plan.”
