Jumble sale to raise cash for Scouts’ new minibus

MEMBERS of Westborough Scout group are holding a Grand Jumble Sale, car wash and coffee morning on Saturday.

The event, which takes place from 10am until noon, is being held in the lecture hall at Westborough Methodist Church.

All money raised at the event will go towards the Scout group’s minibus appeal.

Michael Streets, group Scout leader, said: “The minibus we currently use has served us well but we’ve decided that now is the time to invest in a newer vehicle, but of course they cost a lot of money.

“Fortunately we have a group of very supportive parents and enthusiastic young people who are always willing to help the Scout group whenever they can.

“A series of fundraising events have been planned for the year ahead and we’re sure the people of Scarborough will help us to achieve our goal.”

He added: “If anyone has anything they would like to contribute towards our jumble sale they can bring it to Westborough on Friday evening between 6.15pm and 7.30pm.

“Or you can call our group chairman on 07970 485690 and he will arrange to collect it. Now is the ideal time to dig out those unwanted items from your loft, garage or airing cupboard and help us raise the money we need.”
