At the age of just three, he is already following in the footsteps of his farming family by keeping a watchful eye on three newborn triplets at his grandad’s East Ayton farm.

The toddler has been entrusted to look after the fun-loving trio at Riverside Farm, as his doting grandad Dave Ward watches on with pride.

Both Louis and older brother Jamie, nine, are already being groomed to take over the reins at the farm when they are older.

And unlike other youngsters their age, they are more interested in agriculture and the outdoors than computer games and TV.

“I’m over the moon with them both,” said Dave.

“It’s amazing to think Louis is only three, but he loves getting involved and helping out and having the sheep are really helping him along.

“Having
triplets is
really rare too, and they’ve
already been nicknamed the three musketeers – we’ve called them Peter, Roger and Little S.”

The tot helps out with around 20 sheep, while his older brother takes more responsibilty – and has already started scooping awards at the Yorkshire Show for his geese.

And Dave added: “This keeps the boys occupied and they enjoy it.”
