Can I suggest that the council put up the promised signs saying “Do Not Feed The Seagulls”.
These need to be saturated in the area around the South Bay and harbour area and large enough to be read from a distance. They should be posted in all take-away food outlets along the front and pasted to the big new lidded bins which have (finally) been put in place.
Only this weekend I saw several visitors deliberately putting their scraps on the floor for the gulls to eat. They simply think it is amusing. Most are totally unaware of the trouble they are causing.
The only area unaffected by seagulls seems to be around the North Bay where there are no take-away fish and chip concessions. Enough said.
