Letter: Increase in traffic at Weaponness could cause accident

I agree with Mrs Hindle's comments about being let down by this council over the Weaponness development.
There is an accident waiting to happen due to increase in traffic at Weaponness. There is an accident waiting to happen due to increase in traffic at Weaponness.

Traffic has increased due to this development especially by the Mencap centre, it’s going to be even worse once the leisure centre and football ground open - the whole thing smacks of councillors not viewing the overall picture, just what’s best for them.

Now we have empty park and ride buses adding to the traffic chaos as the 64 bus is rerouted down Valley Road, a heavily used road under the pretence to take pupils to the campus even though it doesn’t go down to the campus or has any bus stops there.

This is the third route this bus has had since the park and ride opened, now we’re told a bus stop is to be placed in Valley Road even though one was placed there a couple of years ago after Weaponness park and ride closed.

Traffic has increased a lot now especially with empty buses every 12 minutes, along with trip buses and lorries. There is an accident waiting to happen.
