Letter: Real ale festival was a success from start to finish

On Thursday October 13 after many months of organising, hard work and dedication from a loyal army of Les Gallienne's '˜finest foot soldiers', Scarborough's first Real Ale, Cider and Arts Festival opened its doors in the Old Parcels Office in the grounds of Scarborough Rail Station, which ran for three glorious days.
The recent real ale festival has been hailed a success. The recent real ale festival has been hailed a success.
The recent real ale festival has been hailed a success.

Little did anyone know what they were about to unleash. What materialised was a fantastic festival that was a celebration of the art of brewing combined with a varied demonstration of local artists’ work. It was organised and run by a wonderful group of men and women who gave their time and effort freely, from all walks of life, with one aim – to make a mark on the social life of Scarborough.

People came from all over the UK to sample the delights of Scarborough. All this hard work was carried out under the watchful eye of Mr Les Gallienne, chairman of the Beer Festival Committee. The three-day event was a total success from start to finish.

May I, through your newspaper, offer my sincere thanks to everyone involved in this festival for all the hard work they put in and say a huge thank you to you all.

Everyone as they left the venue spoke very highly of the event and were all in agreement that this should become one of the social jewels in Scarborough’s crown. Well done to each and everyone.
