Letter: Traffic controls needed on A1079
I totally agree with comments from Neil Burke (Post 24 th November) regarding a safe access/egress at the Wilberfoss/Newton-on- Derwent junction on to the A 1079.
For some unknown reason East Riding Council reject calls for a roundabout or traffic lights, but continue to advocate spending millions of pounds of public money on a pointless stretch of dual carriageway near Barmby Moor.
If the highway authorities are really interested in road safety, as opposed to improved journey times, then traffic controls need to be implemented at this junction before any duelling of the road is even considered.
