Lifeboat crew called out to rescue windsurfer struggling in strong winds
The UK Coastguard asked an East Coast lifeboat crew to launch to help a windsurfer this morning (Sunday).
The team from Bridlington Lifeboats launched the inshore lifeboat at 11.27am after reports the windsurfer could not get back on his board because of strong winds.
The winds were so strong, the boat's helm had to take action to prevent the crew being injured.
When they got to the board, they were told the surfer had made his way back to shore and was in the safe hands of the coastguard.
The team returned to the lifeboat station.
Pictures show the callout as captured by Bridlington Lifeboats.
