Local youngsters Jackson Jowett and Matty Bowman will feature for Scarborough Athletic tonight in their pre-season opener against the Scarborough Saturday League Rep Team at Silver Royd (7.30pm).
Jowett turned out for Edgehill in the Scarborough League last season, while Bowman, who is the son of former Bridlington Town manager John, has been starring for the English Schools FA.
The pair will be joined in the Boro squad by former Spennymoor and York City midfielder Matty Dixon.
All three have been in pre-season training with Boro and boss Steve Kittrick has been suitably impressed.
Kittrick said: "We are having a look at them. They have done well in training and they'll be involved against the Rep Team."
Meanwhile, Boro will be without Leon Scott and Sam Hewitt, who are both away, while Luke Dean is struggling with an ankle injury.
The Boro chief added: "We just want to get the lads in a game situation. Training is all well and good, but it is the games that matter in pre-season.
"The game against the Rep Team is always one we look forward to. It is good to see how things are going with the league and how they are progressing."
