Lunchtime concert at the library

VETERAN pianist Keith Swallow will play Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals at tomorrow’s lunchtime concert at the library.

Keith, from Huddersfield, was 80 last month.

He will be accompanied by former Yorkshire TV presenter Geoff Druett, reciting the poems written by American humourist Ogden Nash to accompany Carnival of the Animals.

Geoff began his career in broadcasting in 1966. Since then he has researched, written and presented a wide range of news, current affairs and documentary programmes. For nearly 30 years he was one of the regular presenters on Yorkshire TV’s nightly news magazine Calendar.

Tomorrow’s concert is due to begin at 12.30pm.

Admission is by donation on the door.
