A man in his 60s has been airlifted to Scarborough Hospital after being knocked over by a wave on Filey Brigg.
Emergency services got the call at just after 3pm today (Friday).
The coastguard, ambulance crews and Filey inshore lifeboat were all in attendance.
The Sea King helicopter was already out on a training exercise so was able to divert immediately to the incident.
A spokeswoman from Humber Coastguard said: “The safest option was to winch him. The tide was rising so crews needed to get him of the Brigg pretty quick.”
