Man arrested for carrying samurai sword in Scarborough street


Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seen brandishing a samurai sword in Scarborough.

Officers were called at around 2.30am on Sunday 15 June 2014, after the man was seen with the sword on Ramshill Road.

The man, aged 24, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place. He was released on police bail following questioning.

Officers believe that a number of people who were in the area at the time will have seen the incident and they are urged to come forward with information.
