Man in court charged with Scarborough burglaries

An 18-year-old Scarborough man has appeared at court in connection with a spate of break-ins in the town.

He was arrested on February 9 and charged on February 25 with three burglaries, three offences of vehicle interference and one charge of possessing drugs. The offences in question took place overnight on February 6-7.

Two further offences, one of burglary and one of vehicle interference were taken into consideration.

He appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on February 27 and was remanded in custody to appear at York Crown Court on March 27.

The offences happened in the Crossgates and Seamer areas of the town.

A 15-year-old boy was also arrested and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
