Man impaled on railings in Scarborough

Firefighters have come to a man's aid after he became impaled on railings in Scarborough.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the man was impaled in the shin in Trinity Road.

A fire appliance and a tactical response vehicle from Scarborough were called to the incident at 1.52am in the early hours of Sunday February 19.

The man was successfully released by the fire crew using a Dewault reciprocating saw and small tools.
