Man suffers burns to face and head in car fire
A man has been taken to hospital with burns to his face and head following a car fire in Thorton-le-Dale.
Crews from Pickering attended the incident at around 12pm yesterday (Monday February 20) after a fire broke out in the car on a driveway in Aunums Close.
A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the car was completely destroyed in the fire. The blaze also damaged another vehicle, plastic fascia and a window of a nearby property.
The owner of the vehicle was treated on the scene by fire crews until ambulance paramedics arrived.
An air ambulance also attended the incident but the man was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
