Man taken to hospital with serious injuries after road traffic collision in Hunmanby near Scarborough

On Saturday Feb 15 at 11am, crews from Filey and Scarborough attended the incident alongside the police.

A red Peugeot 106 had left the road and hit a tree on White Gate Hill in Hunmanby travelling towards Malton Road.

Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, sharps protection, steering wheel protection and small tools to free a male driver, 27, from Scarborough, from the car.

He was then taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed to allow emergency services attend the incident and for the vehicle to be removed - it was reopened at 1.20pm
