A major report which could help shape the future of Manor Road Nurseries will come under the spotlight at Scarborough’s Town Hall on Tuesday.
The report, which has been drawn up by a task group working since last Autumn, has been reviewing a business case which had been put forward suggesting that the council should sell the site.
The idea was met with opposition from many people, who said that the potential financial gain would not make up for the loss of such a successful, well-thought-of asset in Scarborough.
The review has featured detailed consultation with community groups such as the Friends of Manor Road Nursery and local In Bloom groups.
The matter will be discussed at the Resources Scrutiny Committee meeting at the Town Hall at 2pm on Tuesday.
The report will then be presented to the council’s Cabinet on April 23 and finally Full Council on May 13 for approval.
The document is available for members of the public to view in its entirety on Scarborough Council’s website.
