HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for charity at a six-hour gig on the back of a truck in the town centre last month.

Entitled Busking Cancer, it raised £739.32 for Cancer Research and was organised by Rob Simpson, one of about 25 performers.

The acts which played were Ishka, Embolic, Amy Poleon and the Polettes, the Josh-Bi-Winning-Leighton-Laing-Hendrix Experience, Josh Giddings and the Gods of Rock, Grod Groddler and the Grodlings, What Would Chuck Do, the Alistair James Band, Maxxx Kynman and the Volumes and the East Coast Vagabonds.

Rachel Speight, area volunteer manager for Cancer Research, says: “Robert has done some fantastic fundraising by busking in Scarborough”.

Rob said he wanted to thank everyone who took part for helping to make the event so successful.
