Tickets for the Mayor’s Ball - which this year has a Coronation theme - are about to go on sale.
The Mayor’s Ball, which is this year hosted by Scarborough mayor Cllr Helen Mallory in association with the Rotary Club of Scarborough, usually attracts in excess of 200 guests.
During the evening substantial amount of money raised for the Mayoress’ Community Fund which benefits good causes across the Borough, and the event is supported by many generous businesses who offer prizes for the raffle and auction.
The theme for this year’s ball, being held on March 15, is ‘Coronation’, to commemorate the coronation of the Queen.
Tickets are £35, with the cost of a full table of 10 available at a reduced price of £325.
Cllr Mallory, said: “The annual Mayor’s Ball has been attracting guests from far and wide for a number of years and it’s a great chance for friends, colleagues, community groups and lots of other organisations to get together for a fabulous evening.
“This year we are celebrating the Queen’s accession to the throne and we will be entertaining guests with an extract from the Scalby School production of Miss Siagon, with music provided throughout the evening by local group ‘Brooksy’ who play a very wide range of music to suit all tastes.
“We have also managed to secure a fantastic variety of raffle and auction prizes this year, which I hope will suit all tastes and encourage everyone to join in with the fun of this special celebration evening.”
