McBusted have just been announced as the next act to be playing this summer at Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre.
The supergroup made up of former members of McFly and Busted will play on Friday, June 27.
The recently formed Busted/McFly supergroup, made up of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter, Harry Judd, James Bourne and Matt Willis, came together in November 2013 following the astonishing success of the brief reunion of the bands at the Royal Albert Hall on the occasion of McFly’s tenth anniversary concert. Fans were desperate for the guys to take the reunion to the next level and so the moniker McBusted was born. Cue internet explosion of excitement as the hashtag #mcbusted became the number one worldwide trend on Twitter.
Welcome to Yorkshire Area Director, Janet Deacon added: “Wow, what an announcement. That week in June is shaping up to be a real showstopper for our visitor economy.
“What with McBusted, Jessie J and Last Night of the Proms all at the Open Air Theatre, Paul Weller in Dalby Forest and then a very special Armed Forces Day in Scarborough on the Saturday, local businesses should be prepared to be very busy.”
Tickets for the supergroup’s gig priced at £39, will go on sale from 9am, Saturday, February 1 and will be available from the Tourism Bureau by telephone: 01723 383636.
The bureau is open: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9am to 5pm and Wednesday 9.30am to 5pm.
A £2 to £2.50 booking fee per ticket sold will apply.
