Scarborough’s most famous business is back on the nation’s screens once more.
After announcing the appointment of award-winning advertising agency adam&eveDDB last year, Scarborough’s McCain Foods has launched a new advertising campaign – putting the brand at the heart of British family teatimes.
With the busy, functional nature of teatime often meaning precious family moments are overlooked, McCain wanted to show that it is actually when the best moments take place – jokes are told, new things are learnt, bonds are strengthened.
The campaign, which kicked off with a national television advert on Monday, has been created to highlight the great things that happen during teatime, as well as the valuable role McCain products play in a busy family environment.
Unscripted, 10 families from across the United Kingdom have been filmed cooking and eating tea in their own homes.
From kids roller-skating around the kitchen and dogs sitting at the table, to dinner on the sofa and the oldest sibling stealing the last chip, the fly-on-the-wall concept brings to life the real everyday joys we share whilst having tea.
Marketing director at McCain, Mark Hodge, said: “McCain has been a family favourite for over 45 years. Not only do we know a few things about potatoes, but we also know a lot about family teatimes.
“Our aim is to help families across the UK relish the simple joy of connecting over food as well as offering quality, value and convenience from our product portfolio.”
The campaign will run for eight weeks and will be supported by national poster sites, radio, Facebook, YouTube and in-store activity.
London-based adam&eveDDB is behind a number of iconic British adverts, including a string of successful John Lewis Christmas commercials and SSE’s popular ‘Orangutan’ advert from last year.
