The search to find the next Miss Scarborough and district is underway!

The Scarborough News can now confirm that the 2016 competition is being launched, and young women from across the borough and beyond are being urged to try and lay a claim to the crown.

The competition is back after taking a year off in 2015 and should be the biggest year yet.

The previous winner was Filey’s Jess Gale and now a new girl will aim to take the crown.

Organiser Diane Yalezo has now sought a new venue, and is confident that this year’s event will benefit from taking a year off.

She said: “We have a new venue and everything is in place for this to be a great event.”

The event will now be held at the Hackness Grange Country House Hotel on Friday June 3.
