Mum and son to jump out of a plane on Father’s Day in memory of her dad

Scarborough woman Lyn Clegg and her son Kieran Matthewman are to jump out of a plane in memory of Lyn’s dad – on Father’s Day.

Lyn said: “In August 2016 we were given the devastating news my dad Andrew Ballantine had cancer and it was terminal. That day has never left my mind and never will.”

“On November 21 that year, I held my dad as he drifted across the rainbow into the gates of heaven. The support we received from Saint Catherine’s, helping my mum and me care for my dad at home day and night was so greatly appreciated that I wanted to give something back to them.

“So I have decided to jump out of a plane at 15,000ft on Father’s Day, June 17.’’

Debbie Kay, Fundraiser at Saint Catherine’s, said: “We are thrilled that Skydive GB has reserved spaces on Father’s Day for Saint Catherine’s supporters who would like to jump with their fathers or in memory of their fathers.”
