New borough councillors after by-election

Two new Scarborough Borough Councillors have been elected following by-elections.

Voters went to the polls yesterday to vote for two new councillors for the Esk Valley ward and the Streonshalh ward in the northern part of our borough.

The vote ran alongside the North Yorkshire County Council election, and saw Independent candidate Michael Henry Ward romp to victory in Esk Valley.

Labour candidate Tina Marie Davy was elected as borough councillor for the Streonshalh ward.

Turn out for the Esk Valley was 30.66%. Turn out for Streonshalh was 21.75%.
