PLANS for a huge 1,300-home development in Scarborough are set to be submitted this month.
Scarborough Council bosses have announced the Middle Deepdale scheme, in Eastfield, has moved a step closer to fruition, 12 years after the vision was first unveiled.
The project is being delivered by K2 Regeneration and Kebbell Homes, with outline plans due to be put to planning officials on September 26.
The proposals, believed to be the largest current residential application in North Yorkshire, will also feature Extra Care housing for older and disabled residents and a new school. Large recreational open spaces and retail outlets are also on the agenda.
Peter Hindley, Keepmoat Director of Homes, said: “We are excited to be part of this excellent project.
“Not only will it deliver new homes, amenities and recreation, it will also enable us to create many training and employment opportunities for local people.”
Scarborough Council hopes to display the outline planning application next month in Eastfield Library and the Town Hall.
