This important project has been running for four years but one of its three main teachers is moving out of the area. The school now needs to find a new person quickly to keep it running smoothly.

Secretary of the school committee and team leader Kathy Bushell said: “At the moment we have three teachers but with one leaving we need another person.

“We are hoping for more than one so we can take a break now and again.

“The project is there to give some children a second chance and catch up. It also helps push on average readers to the next level.

“We really need someone who can help with leading a class. A male volunteer would be good as young boys react well to a positive role model.

“We would need some references and any volunteers would be CRB checked.”
