And with “two or three” more big names set to be announced for 2015, it’s part of what organisers hope will become a regular attraction outside of the peak summer period.

“There’s money being invested in this to bring people in to town out of season,” said Tony Viney, who is helping to put the show on.

“The aim is to try and make it like (legendary Scarborough nightspot) Penthouse.”

The 29-year-old singer and DJ topped the album charts in 2008 with the platinum selling ‘Now You’re Gone’, which featured several singles, including the title track which also topped the single charts.

Since then, he has appeared in Celebrity Big Brother, and released several more records while appearing at various festivals.

Tickets cost £5 in advance, or £6 on the night.

However, tickets are very limited for the show, which starts at 11pm.
