November 5 is on Thursday but the organised displays and parties are spread over the next week.
Here are some of the planned events:
Beverley: Beverley Lions Bonfire and Fireworks Display, Beverley Westwood. Bonfire lit at 7.15pm followed by spectacular fireworks display starting at 7.45pm.
Cayton: McCain John Young Centre, Church Lane. Bonfire and firework display, starts 6.45pm. Admission free, limited car parking available at £2 per with proceeds to Cayton in Bloom. Sparklers not permitted, refreshments available.
Darley: Playing fields. Bonfire lit 6.45pm; fireworks 7.30pm.
Tickets £2 (£1). All proceeds go towards the Darley Playing fields Association. No dogs or alcohol.
Leyburn: Bonfire and Fireworks Night. Spectacular event lighting up the sky over Leyburn Shawl.
Lythe, Whitby: Old cricket field behind Lythe Village Hall. Entry £3 per person, primary age children free. Bonfire food available in the Village Hall from 5.30pm. Bonfire lit at 6.15pm; firework display at 6.30pm.
Scotton: Cricket field. Bonfire lit 6.30pm; fireworks 7pm.
York: York Maze. Fireshows, food stalls, live music, sideshows and fireworks show chorographed to music. Advance tickets only. Adults £15 and children £10. From 4.30pm
Sheffield: After Dark, Don Valley Grass Bowl. Live Music, funfair, bonfire, food stalls, bar and a massive fireworks display set to music. 5.30pm start; bonfire at 7.30pm.

Sheffield: The Brothers Arms pub in Heeley has a cracking view over Sheffield to watch fireworks across the city. Fun starts at 7pm.
Bingley: Mercure Bradford, Gates open at 6pm and bonfire lit at 7pm; fireworks display at 7:30pm. There are a limited number of pre-purchase tickets at £3 per person (under 3’s are free) or you can purchase tickets on the night at £5 per person (under 3’s are free).
Birstall: Fireworks display hosted by the Black Bull, St Peter’s Church and Mirfield Round Table. Black Bull, Kirkgate, 6pm.
Brighouse: Bradley Wood Scout Campsite, 6.30pm onwards. £4 for adult and £1 for children. Contact: 01484 715858.
Hemsworth: Hemsworth Water Park, from 6.30pm. Bonfire lit at 7pm and fireworks display at 7.30pm.
Leeds: Roundhay Park Fireworks and Bonfire on the Soldiers Field from 7.30pm. Free admission. Firework display from 8pm.
Leeds: Fireworks and bonfire at East End Park from 6.30pm. Free admission.
Leeds: Fireworks and bonfire at Bramley Park from 6.30pm. Free entry.
Leeds: Fireworks and bonfire at Middleton Park from 6.30pm. Free admission. Fireworks start from 7pm.
Leeds: Fireworks and bonfire at Woodhouse Moor from 6.30pm. Free admission.
South Kirkby: Colliery Welfare Site. Children’s rides from 5pm before the fireworks display at 7pm.
Sowerby Bridge: The New Hobbit, Hob Lane. £3 for adults, under 12s go free.
Skipsea: Free bonfire and fireworks, Skipsea Village Hall. Bonfire lit at 6.30pm.
Knaresborough: Aspin Park Primary School from 6pm.
Ripon: Ripon Rowels fireworks display from 5.30pm. Bonfire lit 7pm; fireworks 7.30pm.
Spofforth: Cricket ground from 6pm. Tickets £4 (£2) or £10 family available from Londis post office; the Hairbelle; Spofforth School or Terry Kavanagh at 12a High Street. Gate prices higher.
Bradshaw: Bradshaw Cricket Club, bar opens at 4pm, bonfire lit at 6pm. Free entry.
Todmorden: Todmorden Golf Club, from 5pm onwards.
Sheffield: A ‘gigantic’ bonfire and firework display is being held at Sheffield Transport Sports Club on Greenhill Main Road in Meadowhead from 6pm until 10pm.
Fair rides, free face painting, children’s entertainment and a DJ are on offer at the free event. Spectators are asked not to take their own fireworks.
Driffield: Driffield Town Council and Driffield Agricultural Society presents a Bonfire and Firework Spectacular with activities for all ages, food and drink, fun fair and more. Driffield Showground, 4.30pm-9pm. Adults £3, children £1.
Dunnington: Bonfire and Fireworks Display with live music and beer tent. Eastfield Showfield, gates open 4.45pm, bonfire lit 5.30pm and fireworks 6.30pm. Tickets £8 from www.dunningtonfayre.org.uk, D&Y Taylor Butchers and Station House Day Nursery.
Fangfoss: Big Bonfire and fireworks event with food stalls, licensed bar and competitions. Jubilee Park, bonfire lit at 6.30pm, fireworks start at 7pm. Profits go towards maintaining Jubilee Park.
Beckwithshaw: Village hall grounds. Bonfire lit 6.30pm; fireworks 7pm. Refreshments available in the village hall. Visitors advised to bring a torch.
Boston Spa: Primrose Lane School from 5.30pm. Bonfire lit 6.30pm; fireworks 7pm
Advance tickets £3.50 (£5 on the gate) and £2.50 for children (£3.50) can be bought up until 5pm on Saturday from Douglas Yeadon Hardware and Costcutter in Boston Spa High Street.
Harrogate: Harrogate Round Table fireworks and bonfire, the Stray. Bonfire lit 6.30pm; fireworks 7pm. Free entry - donations welcome.
Masham Recreation Ground: Bonfire lit 6.30pm; fireworks 7pm.
Thorner: Victory Hall field. Bonfire lit 6.30pm; children’s firework display 7pm; main bonfire lit 8pm.
Advance tickets from Thorner Stores £6 (£7 on the gate) and £3 for children aged 3-16 (£4) to raise funds for the Raise the Roof and other local charities.
No one under 18 may attend without an adult aged over 25. No fireworks or alcohol be brought into the event area.
Wetherby: Community bonfire at the Ings from 5pm. Bonfire lit 7pm; fireworks 7.30pm
No alcohol to be brought onto the site.
Tickets £7 (children under 16 free). Tickets on sale at The Paper Shop, Market Place, Library, The Candy Shop and Wetherby Sports Association. Anyone under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Whixley: Whixley village hall from 6.30pm. Free entry - donations welcome
Batley: Free bonfire and fireworks display with food and music from the Simon Walker Band. Soothill WMC, Soothill Lane, fire lit 7pm, fireworks at 8pm, music at 9pm.
Cookridge: Cookridge Village Scout Group, Scout Hut, Pinfold Lane, bonfire 6pm, fireworks 7pm. Entry by donation. No parking down Pinfold Lane.
Cleckheaton: Bonfire, fireworks, pie and peas, burgers. Hartshead Moor Cricket Club, from 6pm. Admission is free.
Elland: Elland Round Table Bonfire with rides, games and entertainment. Hullenedge Park, from 5.30pm onwards. £5 for adults and £2.50. Contact Malc Coton on 07747 018405.
Halifax: Long Can Hall, 7pm onwards.
Mirfield: Mirfield Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza with stalls, food and entertainment. Mirfield Showground, Huddersfield Road, gates open 5.30pm; fire lit at 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm. Proceeds to local causes.
Morley: Bonfire with food tent, fairground rides and licensed bar. Woodkirk Sports Club, Dewsbury Road. Gates open 5.30pm, bonfire lit 6pm. Adults £3, children £2. Tickets available from Chadwick Butchers and Tingley Stores.
Northowram: Junior Football Club, 5pm onwards. Advance tickets are £3 for adults, £2.50 for unaccompanied under 16s, and accompanied under 16s are free. Tickets on the gate are £5.
Ovenden: Threeways, Nursery Lane, 6pm onwards. Adults £2.50 and under 13s go free. Refreshments available.
South Elmsall: Minsthorpe Baths Playing Fields, Ash Grove, 6pm with fireworks at around 6,30pm.
Wakefield: Thornes Park. Starts at 6pm, fire lit at 7pm, display at 8pm. Competition for the best Guy Fawkes on stage at 7.30pm with prizes.
Sheffield: Organised by scouts from Sharrow’s St Andrews group, this event in Chelsea Park is always popular with families and starts at 5.15pm. Includes fireworks and a bonfire.
Sheffield: 20th Sheffield Scout Group hosts its annual bonfire and firework display at Common Lane park land from 7pm. Hot food and refreshments will be available. Tickets are £3 in advance or £4 on the night.
Sheffield: The Old Rectory in Handsworth is hosting a bonfire and fireworks from 5.30pm, with fireworks at 7pm.
An indoor bar, inside bouncy castle, hotdog stall and fairground rides will be included. Tickets cost £3.00.
Sheffield: A party organised by Dore Scouts will be held on Parker’s Lane field off Rushley Road in Dore. Gates will open at 6.30 pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7.15 pm.
The fireworks will start at about 7.30pm,
Food including burgers, jacket potatoes, teas, coffees and soft drinks will be on offer. Entry £3 per head, children free.
Sheffield: Bonfire from 6pm and two sets of fireworks at 7pm and 8pm at the Dronfield Woodhouse Recreation Ground. Stalls include a barbecue, hog roast, pizza oven, curry stall, jacket potatoes and a bouncy castle as well as rides.
Adult tickets cost £5 in advance or £7 on the night.
Children £2.50 in advance or £3 on the day.
Sheffield: Firework Spectacular, Owlerton Greyhound Stadium.
Doors open 4pm. First race 5pm. Fireworks start approx 8pm.
Halifax: Heath RUFC Clubhouse, 6:30pm onwards. Free entry with refreshments available, you can bring your own fireworks.
