LEE DOUGLAS: Below-par England still on top run

I spent most of the England v Wales game shouting at the screen in frustration at the mistakes our guys were making.

Eddie Jones doesn’t seem to know what his best team is, I certainly believe some of his best players are being left on the sidelines at the moment.

I’m not sure what Jones sees in the captain Dylan Hartley, other than leadership.

Jamie George is a much better player for me, and he should be starting.

James Haskell should also be another one in the starting side.

Still, you can’t argue with Jones’ record as England coach, they somehow keep winning despite not playing well.

It will be interesting to see what team they put out against Italy.

One thing is for sure, when they hit their straps, someone is going to get a real thumping from them.

Sticking with the England theme, I was delighted to see Zoe Aldcroft has come off the bench in the first two Womens Six Nations games.

It is a phenomenal achievement for Zoe to be in the England set-up, and also a great reflection upon the club.

Looking closer to home, we edged to a 15-13 win against a stubborn Bradford Salem side on Saturday.

It was great to see Ian Williams (above) back in the fold.

It’s a great boost to have him back with us.

We have a tough game at Beverley on Saturday, but it’s one we are confident of winning.
