Letter - Nostalgic to watch Scarborough v Chelsea cup tie in memory of John Fawcett

I was so saddened to read of the passing of John Fawcett. I have many fond memories of him especially from Scarborough FC.

John was a man of many talents both professionally and within his love of sport which leads me to my best memory of him.

Back in 1988 or 1989 (my failing memory) when I used to film all the matches at Scarborough FC, they played and beat Chelsea 3-2 in the Littlewoods Cup.

For that momentous occasion I had the pleasure of John sitting alongside me as my commentator.

Somewhere I’m sure I will still have the video of the match and it will now be very nostalgic to watch it again in memory of him.

RIP John Fawcett.
