St Martin’s Church Seamer to reopen for private prayer - this is when
Following the latest government advice for places of worship the church council is pleased to announce that St Martin’s Church Seamer will reopen.
It will re-introduce its normal Saturday morning Open Church with effect from Saturday June 27.
The church will be open every Saturday between 10.00am and noon, but with the safe distancing measures currently in force.
The guidelines allow personal prayer only in the allocated areas of the church, but it is hoped that this will be an opportunity for individuals to have some time for rest and reflection in the quiet of the building.
St Martin’s has been at the centre of life in Seamer since the early 12th century and a place of refuge in times of conflict and a source of aid and reassurance in times of plague. Please note that there will be no refreshment or toilet facilities available at the present time.
